Enough is Enough

As I sit and ponder how we, as humans, have survived the multitude of tragedies that have plagued us worldwide, I think we deserve a HUGE hug, pat on the back, and kiss on both cheeks!!

There is something to be said about our ability to thrive despite challenges. We have survived a global pandemic wherein we have lost loved ones, homes, cars, jobs, and - for many of us - our minds.

Although it has been 2 years since the onset, there are still remnants of the pain, isolation, disconnect, and need to rebuild.

Where do we begin? And even if we have begun, where do we go now? Has everyone come out alright? Mentally? Emotionally? Physically? Do we have a source to reach out to for sharing thoughts, and feelings, and gaining advice?

I have found myself in the dark, under the bed, and downright depressed due to the level of stress I’ve had to endure. Sick parents. Adult children and grandchildren that need support. Changing jobs with lesser pay to begin again. It’s enough to break down the strongest person.

My grandmother used to say I am the ‘Peacemaker’ and I make it look easy. Perhaps, I do. But somewhere underneath that smiling face, I am screaming and crying my eyes out. I get overwhelmed, confused, sad, and tired. I’m still human.

This makes it clear that we need each other to get along. I couldn’t imagine being alone forever. Life is short.

Now, more than ever before, we must take a few deep breaths and start moving forward.

If you haven’t already, consider finding someone to talk to openly and honestly. Reach out to friends and family that you haven’t connected with in a long time. Share positive energy with strangers. It works. All it takes is a few kind words or considerate gestures.

Together we can improve our lives and the lives of others. Peace, love, and happiness are all contagious.

Enough of the sadness. Enough of the disconnect. Enough of the silos. Now is the time to find yourself, your strength, and your drive. Now is the time to get back in the race. Now is the time to build yourself up! Be kind. Be considerate. Lift somebody up! You may be exactly what they needed to improve their life.

We have made it this far. Let’s celebrate our successes! Let’s celebrate Life!

With mad love and respect!  ☀️šŸŒ™✨
